Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Tae Suk Oh, L.Ac. #AC11972Tae Suk Oh, L.Ac. #AC11972

Tae is a graduate of South Baylo University. He became an acupuncturist because he grew up with Oriental Medicine in South Korea. He was already naturally familiar with acupuncture and herbs. He saw and experienced a lot of great things with acupuncture from a very young age. His favorite part of being an acupuncturist is that he can treat a variety of symptoms and conditions in a natural, safe way. He also likes that the equipment requirements are minimal and it enables him to treat in nearly any environment.

Tae chose to be part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he like the clean and modern treatment space and that the methods used in the clinics are based on science and easy to implement.

When he isn’t treating patients, Tae enjoys golfing and traveling.

George Tabares L.Ac. NCCAOM 134791, DACMGeorge Tabares L.Ac. NCCAOM 134791, DACM

George attended the Pacific College of Health & Science as well as AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. At the time he decided to become an acupuncturist he was already a personal trainer, Asian Bodyworker and Nutritionist. Traditional Chinese Medicine encompasses movement, manual therapies, nutrition and more, so it was the next logical step for him to be able to help people with a deeper perspective. George believes acupuncture can improve his patient’s lives by calming and clearing the mind, alleviating pain, and bringing them back into balance. Being able to work on a team of practitioners delivering effective treatments is what made him decide to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team. The things George loves most about San Diego are the culture and access to beaches.

Dr. Chutima Zhao, DACM, Dipl O.M.(NCCAOM), MSTOM, BSN, #18190Dr. Chutima Zhao, DACM, Dipl O.M.(NCCAOM), MSTOM, BSN, #18190

Dr Zhao believes in helping people to experience the possibility of restoring health, nourishing vitality, and empowering well-being by Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. She believes acupuncture is one of the best therapies available because it is minimally invasive and effective not only for pain but also for many other symptoms. Dr. Zhao joins Modern Acupuncture because she embraces the principle of being simple but unique that aligns with “Making Lives Better” and she loves being in San Diego, where she can enjoy the ocean and clear blue sky with fresh air.

Janel Richardson, L.Ac. #18641Janel Richardson, L.Ac. #18641

Janel became an acupuncturist because she wanted to specialize in a holistic internal medicine. Acupuncture can make people's lives better because it provides a natural relief option for many ailments seen in today's modern world. Not only does it help with physical symptoms and pain but, it also has the unique ability to improve emotional well-being. By simply escaping into the space of deep relaxation, stress is reduced and health is improved. Modern Acupuncture has helped simplify the acupuncture treatment process and created an environment in the Zen Lounge that provides people with the space they need to get away and relax. It's a very calming and peaceful environment both for the practitioner and for the client. By bringing this valuable service to the people at Westfield Mission Valley Mall, MA is able to reach a lot of people who may not have otherwise thought about considering acupuncture for health. What Janel loves most about practicing acupuncture in San Diego is that there is an acupuncturist for every personality type. Most people are open to receiving treatment and are generally appreciative. She loves when people come in and realize just how comfortable they can be during an acupuncture treatment. Janel graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego.

Kari Peviani, L.Ac. #CA18752Kari Peviani, L.Ac. #CA18752

Kari has always wanted to help people and feels that acupuncture helps people by helping to return the body, mind and spirit into a state of balance and health. Kari graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and joined the San Diego Modern Acupuncture team because she believes in our mission of making acupuncture more accessible for people. Kari loves the beaches of San Diego, taking walks barefoot on the beach every day and snorkeling with the leopard sharks in the summer. She also loves spending time at dog beach.
