Talia is a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego Campus. When she initially began her undergraduate studies she entered with a pre-med focused major. She had the opportunity to follow many medical doctors and quickly realized patients were given a diagnosis, prescription, and/or referral. She felt she wasn’t being fair to the patients by not informing them of another alternative option. She began to seek out Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); treating the root cause of illness, not only symptoms, made sense to her. Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is seeing her patients regain the trust that their body naturally wants to heal and if given the right circumstances it will.
She joined the Modern Acupuncture team because the approach of making Acupuncture accessible to everyone really resonated with her. She says “If we can get more people to put interest in their health by being a member then we can start to decrease chronic pain, medication use, and daily stress. Acupuncture can finally be utilized as a first approach to health instead of as a last resort.”
When she’s not working Talia is usually outside trying to keep up with her one year old! She enjoys teaching and practicing yoga, being at the beach and feeling the sunshine. Her family always tries to make time to travel since they love learning about and experiencing new cultures.
Patrick is a graduate of the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver, CO. He decided to become an acupuncturist because he was thoroughly impressed with the results he got from acupuncture after being treated for PTSD and body pain while on active duty in the US Navy. His favorite part of being an acupuncturist is helping people to feel better and be healthier. He also enjoys educating people about health and well being and learning more about acupuncture and medical science.
Patrick joined the Modern Acupuncture team to be part of a cutting edge acupuncture practice and a cutting edge business. He wants to help advance acupuncture as a mainstream healing modality.
When he isn’t treating patients, Patrick's hobbies include fitness, martial arts, camping, surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and astrology.
Amanda attended the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University. Some years back, she experienced premenopausal symptoms at a young age during a very stressful point in her life. As a last resort, she decided to try acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs to help alleviate her symptoms. Amanda was amazed how quickly her symptoms resolved with regular acupuncture. It was after that experience she decided to become an acupuncturist. Seeing patients get results and improving their quality of life is what she loves most about being an acupuncturist. Amanda decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team after learning about its mission to incorporate assessible and effective treatment models of acupuncture for the everyday person. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, exploring other cultures, cooking using traditional methods, and pampering her pups.
