Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Alex Flores, L.Ac. #AC60349953Alex Flores, L.Ac. #AC60349953

Alex attended the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. He decided to become an acupuncturist after having the opportunity to shadow a successful Acupuncturist/Herbalist. Each day he was in the office, he saw a transformation in patients. Whether they came in for emotional health, pain relief or preventative care, the thing they all had in common was that they left with a smile. The thing Alex loves most about being an acupuncturist is the opportunity to provide relief for people which enables them to experience their best lives. Alex decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he feels the mission, to make people’s lives better, aligns with his own. Outside of work Alex enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife exploring the outdoors! He loves riding his bicycle around admiring the beauty of this life we live, and stopping at local coffee shops to enjoy with others. He also enjoys playing and dancing to music.

Julia LaBarge, EAMP #60318130Julia LaBarge, EAMP #60318130

Julia is a graduate of the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. When she was introduced to the principles of East Asian Medicine, it just made sense to her: if the body’s balance is restored, healing naturally occurs. Acupuncture was instrumental in her own healing process, and after experiencing profound results, she knew she had to learn more and share it with others.

Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is helping people find more freedom and ease in their bodies, contributing to happier, healthier living.

While acupuncture is an ancient medical practice, it is still relatively new to American culture. Julia believes that Modern Acupuncture is at the forefront of educating the public on the science behind acupuncture and its myriad of benefits. She is proud to part of the movement that is making acupuncture accessible to all.

When she isn’t treating patients, Julia enjoys spending time in nature and hiking with her dogs. She has a regular yoga and meditation practice and loves to cook. Travel is a lifelong passion; Julia seeks new places, people, experiences, and cuisines. Overall, she loves variety, and welcomes anything that will enhance the joys of life!

Kalvin L. (Renton, WA) - 9/30/2019

My experience with Modern Acupuncture was excellent. Rachael was great with any questions I had and Alex made my first acupuncture treatment very comfortable. I will be returning very often for future treatments.

Geoffrey H. (Renton, WA) - 9/30/2019

I found Modern Acupuncture through Google and decided to give it a try. I have acute, isolated severe abdominal pain more than a year after gall bladder removal surgery. The pain has significantly subsided and has been much less severe. Rachael took time to orient me to the acupuncture process. The introduction video is extremely helpful. Alex and Julia both took time to listen and understand the pain I was having. If you have unresolved pain, try Modern Acupuncture.

Suzy S. (Renton, WA) - 9/30/2019

Alex and Rachael are so very welcoming and kind. Racheal warmly greats me and quickly gets me oriented. Alex has been amazing and my pain levels have greatly lessened. I have bad arthritis and nerve issues and Alex has enabled my body to be so much freer of pain.

Yolanda P. (Renton, WA) - 9/16/2019

I get cosmetic acupuncture and to help my menopause symptoms. Since I've started Modern Acupuncture, my hot flashes, sleeping pattern has improved 10 times over. I have told people to come to the Renton location because Alex and Rachel are wonderful and very welcoming.

Amarjeet S. (Renton, WA) - 9/16/2019
