Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Britni Rodriguez, L.Ac. #13992Britni Rodriguez, L.Ac. #13992

Britni is a graduate of Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier, CA. She decided to become an acupuncturist because she is a firm believer in acupuncture for treatment and prevention of disease. Acupuncture helped transform her own health and life when she was suffering.

Her favorite part about being an acupuncturist is helping people achieve their optimal state of health. She loves to hear that her patients get relief.

She joined Modern Acupuncture because she wanted to be part of a dedicated, passionate team and provide a high-quality source of healing for the community.

When she isn’t treating patients, Britni enjoys spending time with her family. Together, they go to baseball games, enjoy park time and create lasting memories.

Joseph (Joey) DeStefano II, DAOM, L.Ac. Dipl.Ac. & OM (NCCAOM) #CA AC16965, RI DA00454Joseph (Joey) DeStefano II, DAOM, L.Ac. Dipl.Ac. & OM (NCCAOM) #CA AC16965, RI DA00454

Joey is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego (BHSc, Cum Laude, DACM), and Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Santa Monica (MTOM, Summa Cum Laude). He also completed advanced studies at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai PRC.

Joey has been involved in East Asian Medicine since high school, largely as a hobby associated with his 30 plus years of training in the martial arts. He often used herbal compounds and manual techniques to treat training injuries.  When he developed digestive disorders during graduate school and got little relief from western medicine, he sought help from friends in the acupuncture world. He finally found the relief he was looking for.  After retiring from 20 years of government service, he decided to take his love of the healing arts of China and Japan to a new level and bring the same sense of relief to others.  During his externships and residencies at the Disney Cancer Center at Providence-St. Joseph's Medical Center (Burbank), Yue Yang Integrative Medicine Hospital (Shanghai), and the Chronic Pain Center at the UCLA Venice Family Clinic (Venice, CA), he watched amazing things happen and knew he found his path.

Joey loves being able to make a difference in peoples' lives. Through acupuncture, he can assist the body’s innate healing ability, and help folks get back in the game quickly, without the need for daily regimens of pharmaceuticals.

Joey decided to join the Modern Acupuncture team because he believes that it fills a niche in the world of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. It offers an opportunity for the average person to have access to quality acupuncture treatments, without breaking the bank, or having to rely on insurance coverage.  Having grown up in Yorba Linda, He’s most excited to bring his skills to his family and friends in his hometown

When he isn’t treating patients, Joey has lovingly been accused of being able to bend time, and in his spare time, he actively volunteers at both his daughter's school and at his parish. He is an avid family historian/genealogist, an artisanal bread baker, as well as a professional opera singer and voice-over artist. But of all the titles he holds, none makes him prouder than that of “Daddy” to his little girl, Gigi.
