Rocio is a graduate of Tri-State College of Acupuncture. After suffering from her own health issues, she went in search of wellness and was led to acupuncture. She loves watching patients get better and take charge of their own health with acupuncture and healthy eating.
She joined to M.A. Acupuncture team because she strongly believes in the community-style model and that acupuncture should be accessible to everyone as a way to improve health and prevent decline.
When she isn’t treating patients, Rocio enjoys hiking, kickboxing, reading, traveling and cooking.
After graduating with a psychology degree from University of Buffalo, Melissa was drawn to the acupuncture profession for its ability to help patients to begin a life of healing and balance. In fact, Melissa had health issues of her own that originally brought her to acupuncture after Western medicine alone fell short. Through her personal healing experience with acupuncture, Melissa is inspired to heal others through holistic treatments. Melissa graduated from Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver; she loves being an acupuncturist and is constantly invigorated by the results she sees in her patients.
Melissa chose to join the M.A. Acupuncture team because she believes wholeheartedly in the mission of “Making Lives Better,” and feels that affordable and accessible care can bring acupuncture into the mainstream.
When she isn’t treating patients, Melissa can likely be found rock climbing. Melissa is passionate about adventures. She loves traveling and staying active by dancing, skiing and hiking.

Absolutely love this place. Such a peaceful and relaxing environment. Feel so wonderful after my treatments. Highly recommend to everyone. Very reasonable prices too. I will be continuing treatments for quite some time because I feel so much better!
The treatments can change your life and health! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. It has improved our health at a time when we needed it the most. Great ambience too!
My first acupuncture session was amazing, multiple issues that have bothered me for month's. Melissa targeted these issues and I have more range of motion, and less tightness in these areas.
Here is a post COVID update— I am so glad they are open and it continues to be an awesome experience!! I feel very safe...they follow all good practices (everyone wears masks), they check temperature before going back and sanitize every surface before and after every patient including the door handles!! Patients are never put next to each other and most often across the room from each other if more than one person is being treated. I feel like they are taking every single possible step to keep clients safe and really going the extra mile. Kudos, and I am so glad they are open!! ————————————// It’s a great concept and a shorter visit than other places. I love the facial acupuncture. The acupuncturists are all excellent. I prefer the community environment setting like this is, and love the streaming nature videos. The chairs have light massage and heat and recline back, which works great but don’t expect any localized treatments on your back because it’s all face up in the chairs. Needles are in for 20 minutes which is the minimum needed to be effective. I bought the unlimited for a year package and so far I can always get an appointment when I want one. They are closed on Sundays.
M.A. Acupuncture is seriously life changing. I get acupuncture to help with my sleep, stress and to help support my immune system. Especially right now during this pandemic, I'm especially grateful that M.A. Acupuncture is open, so I can get treatments. I'm an essential worker and I also have asthma, so acupuncture has definitely helped me with my stress relief, my sleep, and is supporting my immune system. Melissa, the acupuncturist, is awesome. 10/10 recommend coming to ModAcu Lakewood, they're all so fantastic!🙌🏻😁
