Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Juliana Orozco, L.Ac. #3895Juliana Orozco, L.Ac. #3895

Juliana attended acupuncture school at the Acupuncture Massage College in Miami, Florida. She decided to become an acupuncturist when she received acupuncture herself, and experienced it’s benefits. Being able to help people and lead them on a path of healing is what Juliana loves the most about being an acupuncturist. She loves the concept of Modern Acupuncture and sees it as an opportunity for acupuncture to be delivered to more people. Outside of work, Juliana enjoys cooking, gardening, and going to the beach.

Yolanda Serrano, L.Ac. #3082Yolanda Serrano, L.Ac. #3082

Yolanda attended acupuncture school at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After practicing as a nurse practitioner for many years, Yolanda started searching for a way to help people with medical issues in a more natural and holistic way.  In her search she came across Oriental Medicine, specifically acupuncture. The thing Yolanda loves the most about being an acupuncturist is having the opportunity to teach people how to keep themselves balanced and prevent disease. Yolanda also says she loves observing the transformation from illness to wellness right before her eyes, and seeing the decrease in pain levels and discomfort. Modern Acupuncture’s natural, scientific pathway to bring balance to the body and have better health is why Yolanda chose to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures, and offering her acupuncture skills during charity medical camps.

Kimberly Hickerson, CTRS, AP3979Kimberly Hickerson, CTRS, AP3979

Kim is an Acupuncture Physician and Recreational Therapist, working in the health and medical field for 18 years.  She believes wellness is achieved through a holistic approach, which focuses on all aspects of oneself working together to reach optimal health, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual harmony.  As a Recreational Therapist, she has worked with a multitude of populations and conditions and has been able to apply principles of Eastern Medicine to assist patients with unique needs and abilities. She is an advocate of empowering patients to participate in their own healing and to discover their individual paths to health and happiness.

Kim was introduced to Eastern Medicine 10 years ago by a practitioner helping her with an injury. She noticed that just after a handful of treatments, not only did she fully recover from her injury, but she was losing weight, sleeping better, and had a more positive outlook on life. This is when she decided to learn the medicine herself and had begun her master’s program within just a few months.

Kim is licensed to practice in the state of Florida and a diplomat of NCCAOM (The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) as well as a member of NCTRC (The National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification).

Outside of work Kim enjoys traveling, painting, yoga, meditation, and aerial fitness training as well as spending time with her dogs.  She sincerely aims to educate and transform the lives of others to help them feel and look their very best given any opportunity.
