Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Peter Caruso, L.Ac. #0965Peter Caruso, L.Ac. #0965

Peter Caruso, L.Ac. graduated from Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to working at Modern Acupuncture, Peter had his own practice in Florida before moving to Charlotte. Peter was introduced to acupuncture through his own knee injury. “After a severe knee injury, I found that acupuncture was the only thing that helped my recovery. I became fascinated with understanding how acupuncture worked and soon began to read everything I could get my hands on, related to the subject. After two years, I decided to begin an Oriental Medical program."

Now Peter enjoys watching the smiles on his patients as they begin to experience living a symptom free lifestyle. Peter joined Modern Acupuncture because it allows him to focus completely on treating patients. “This position allows me to see a large number of patients, see great benefit, and make a greater impact on the lives and health of others.” When he is not in the clinic treating patients, Peter enjoys trail running, backpacking, playing video games and exploring mathematical philosophy.

Zachary Hurt, ND, L.Ac. #0896Zachary Hurt, ND, L.Ac. #0896

Zac is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Acupuncturist. His passion for acupuncture stems from his family’s use of preventative medicine and holistic care when he was a child.  From a young age he recalls that they always turned to herbal remedies before medication. His favorite part of being an acupuncturist is being able to treat a variety of people and conditions and he likes that Modern Acupuncture makes treatments affordable and accessible. In his free time you can find Zac cooking, traveling, exercising and spending time with his fiancé and his Pekingese.

Marina Orlova, L.Ac, DOMMarina Orlova, L.Ac, DOM

Marina is a graduate of Acupuncture and Massage College in Kendall, Florida. She decided to become an acupuncturist because she loved the holistic approach to balance the body and tap into its natural healing mechanisms. Her passion is to get to the root of an ailment to encourage a more permanent resolution rather than just manage symptoms. Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is providing natural relief and seeing her patient’s response to the positive effects. She decided to join the MA team because she loved the ambiance of the clinic and the opportunity to work with others who advocate healing. When she’s not treating patients she enjoys salsa dancing, painting and making art and going on outdoor adventures.
