Rachelle is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist and Herbalist, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida College of Integrative Medicine in 2009. Practicing Eastern Medicine for over 10 years, she’s traveled the world advancing her knowledge in alternative and complementary healthcare modalities to offer more effective treatments for modern disorders.
While the focus of her practice has largely been in fertility and reproductive health, she believes that the same principles of balance and sustainability applied throughout the stages of family planning can also be applied to the stages of building (or rebuilding) physical and mental health.
In June of 2022, her and her husband, Adam, took over ownership of the Modern Acupuncture Cool Springs location in Brentwood, TN. Their aim is to make traditional medicine easy to understand and integrated into everyday health and wellness.
Marcela has always loved taking care of people and has an undergrad BA degree in International Relations, Chinese and Japanese Languages from Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. Becoming a TCM practitioner and acupuncturist was a perfect way to combine her love of healing and Asian language and culture. In Jan 2009, she graduated from Florida College of Integrative Medicine with a BS in Health Studies and a Masters in Oriental Medicine. Over her almost 14 years of practice she has specialized in neurology, gynecology and oncology with extra training in Traditional Chinese Herbology and pharmacology. She is a certified Practitioner in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy, and has advanced diagnostic training in Shen-hammer Pulse diagnosis.
In 2020, she completed a Doctoral Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with Pacific College of Health and Science and is currently working on finishing The Fundamental of Oncology Acupuncture with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

They are so welcoming and I have felt relief after every visit. They also welcome walk-ins and offer you tea after every session. Very accommodating with the plan you pick. I would recommend this place to everyone!
I started going to Modern Acupuncture a couple weeks ago for hair loss and stress/anxiety. I have noticed a difference in my stress levels since the first session and have continued to see results after each session. Along with stress levels decreasing my sleep has improved and overall I have really enjoyed going to Modern Acupuncture. The environment is relaxing, the people are very kind and I would 100% recommend anyone to go! Even if you are unsure or have never had acupuncture before you will feel comfortable at Modern Acupuncture and leave feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to book another session!
The pain in my hip simply would not go away. This had been going on for several months and was getting worse. I was no longer able to do my daily workout at the "Y" or participate in my exercise class without pain. I had tried acupuncture before with positive results. After hearing some good reports about Modern Acupuncture, I decided to try them. What a good decision! Rachelle started me on a treatment plan and after a few sessions, the pain subsided and gradually disappeared. I am now on a maintenance plan and back to all of my activities. Thanks to all of you at Modern Acupuncture.
From Brittany and Megan at reception, to the massage & heat reclining leather chair, the experience is a pleasurable one. Soothing music, dim lights, curtain dividers, and large LCD screens placed at an angle for our viewing add to the ambiance.
Modern Acupuncture has been a wonderful experience. My sinuses have cleared enough that I can smell again. My weekly sessions are great stress relief times. I am very refreshed after 30 minutes in an almost meditative state I haven't achieved any other way. The acupuncturists are so skilled you don't even notice the needles.
