Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Jameson James, L.Ac., MSOM, Dipl. OMJameson James, L.Ac., MSOM, Dipl. OM

Jameson is a graduate of AOMA- Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX.

He decided to become an acupuncturist because he enjoys teaching people about their innate healing powers. The thing he loves most about being an acupuncturist is making a difference in someone’s day.

He is excited to be a part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he feels that acupuncture is on the verge of a breakthrough in the U.S. and Modern Acupuncture is leading the way.

In his free time, Jameson enjoys singing opera, running on the greenbelt with his dog and daughter, practicing Tai Chi and Qigong, and catching up with friends in beautiful Austin.

J.A. Lazarus, Ph.D., L.Ac., MAcOM, AOBTA-MQ, NCCAOM-Dipl. O.M. TX Lic.#AC01727J.A. Lazarus, Ph.D., L.Ac., MAcOM, AOBTA-MQ, NCCAOM-Dipl. O.M. TX Lic.#AC01727

J.A.’s fascination with Chinese medicine – defined by the contemporary Daoist Master, Jeffrey Yuen, as “’applied’ Chinese philosophy” – began, in fact, with the underlying philosophy, which decades ago strongly shaped the development of her doctoral theory

She says that there are so MANY things to love about being an acupuncturist; it’s difficult to narrow down.  She feels it is her honor to assist and participate in each client’s unique path to serene, pain/stress-free “balance” and their progress toward the thriving vitality of “health-full longevity.”

J.A. believes that Modern Acupuncture’s mission and “healthcare-reimagined” operating model are critically timely and ideally suited to meet the significant, pressing needs throughout our multi-cultural populations. This is especially true at this “dynamic” point in history --- for effective, efficient, affordable and accessible “whole-human” supportive care, reduction of stress, promotion of health and enhanced quality of life.

When she is not treating patients, J.A. enjoys on-going study of “the limitless”, ancient medicine, urban farming, conscious cooking, Taiji and QiGong, learning Mandarin “albeit at glacier-speed”, quality time with family & friends, and gratefully living a “3 Good Dogs” life.

Chanelle MacNab L.Ac. #AC01284Chanelle MacNab L.Ac. #AC01284

Chanelle earned her Master’s of Traditional Oriental Medicine from PCOM in San Diego, CA. Upon completion of her Masters’ Chanelle studied at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and gained hands on experience studying in one of China’s oldest TCM Hospitals. Chanelle also worked in a private oncology clinic in Milan, Italy for 2 years and has a special interest in immunology and internal medicine. She also uses acupuncture to treat pain, headaches, allergies, stress, anxiety and depression, to name a few. Chanelle is a Texas licensed Acupuncturist and a Qi Gong instructor. During her time in china she saw how Traditional Chinese Medicine can treat and address almost every disease. Experiencing how acupuncture can restore health and balance into the entire system and improve quality of life is what Chanelle loves most about being an acupuncturist. Chanelle decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because it resembles the treatment style that she experienced while in China. Some of the similarities include that it is accessible and affordable to everyone, and can reach a larger demographic. “Modern Acupuncture offers a beautiful, relaxing and safe environment, the highest quality experience and it helping more people to have improved health” Chanelle says. Outside of work, she enjoys being outside running and hiking, cooking healthy food and connecting with the amazing Austin community. She speaks 4 languages including French, Spanish, Italian and English, and enjoys engaging with people of all cultures, traditions and world views.
