Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Kelly Wylie, L.Ac., #AC00461Kelly Wylie, L.Ac., #AC00461

Kelly attended the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA. She decided to become an acupuncturist to be challenged to learn a new science that would change the healthcare system in our future. Kelly wanted to be a part of the medical community that worked in preventative medicine. Being the tool that helps others heal from their ailments is what Kelly loves the most about being an acupuncturist. To see her patient’s conditions change instantly for the better is the most gratifying feeling for her. Kelly choose to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because she believes in the concept of affordable healthcare that everyone has access to. She knows being part of this team, she can be part of the community and make a difference in people’s lives. Outside of work Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, scuba diving, running, crossfit, swimming, and being a USA swim official.

Meredith Stein, L.Ac., Dipl.OM (NCCAOM)Meredith Stein, L.Ac., Dipl.OM (NCCAOM)

Meredith is a graduate of Texas Health and Science University in Austin, TX. She became an acupuncturist because growing up, she suffered from chronic headaches and skin issues. She relied on weekly allergy shots and multiple prescription medications to feel better. After college, she moved to South Korea for three years, and while there, she adopted a more balanced diet and lifestyle and also became acquainted with acupuncture and other holistic forms of healthcare. Through these lifestyle shifts, her overall health and energy levels improved dramatically — and her allergies even went away and have yet to return! She knew she needed to return to the States and share what she had learned, to help others find balance and feel better, too.

Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is being able to play a part in helping others find physical and/or emotional relief, naturally and without the use of pharmaceuticals.

She decided to join the Modern Acupuncture team because she feels Eastern Medicine is needed more than ever in our high-stress, overly-medicated culture. She likes that Modern Acupuncture helps to bridge the divide between East and West and expose many more people to the incredible benefits of acupuncture

When she isn’t treating patients, Meredith loves reading, cooking (and eating!), practicing yoga, writing, hiking with my dogs, and running an online vintage clothing shop.

Patti Carey, DAOM, L.Ac. #00812Patti Carey, DAOM, L.Ac. #00812

Patti attended both the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine San Diego, CA, and AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, Austin, TX. Her first experience with acupuncture made her realize there was something beyond Western Medicine that could offer health benefits and options. She decided to learn more about it and become an acupuncturist with the intent of helping others realize options, opportunities for healing, and bridging Western and Eastern medicine. She loves hearing patients describe how they feel after a session, and how acupuncture has impacted their lives for the better, especially when all else had failed.

Having been a private practitioner for almost 20 years, Pattie was burned out and took a year-long sabbatical in Mexico. During that time, she realized that she truly is an acupuncturist, yet had no interest in opening a private clinic again. Modern Acupuncture allows her to provide acupuncture services to a large population, not only as an introduction to acupuncture, but a way to offer them ongoing treatment at reasonable costs, and continued encouragement, development, and achievement of their health goals.

When she isn’t treating patients, Patti enjoys biking, hiking, walking, and is an avid reader.  She also creates unique one-of-a-kind jewelry called Wild Imaginations using cabochons and a paint pouring technique. She also enjoys ethnic foods, both cooking and eating out. Her two cats, Katy and Rocky, provide considerable entertainment for her as well.

I went in for my 1st ever Acupuncture session and I was greeted by the girl at the front desk, who was very nice, got through all documents that needed to be signed. My acupuncturist Kelly was AWESOME. Very informative and professional. Made me feel super comfortable, it being my first experience and all. She even asked questions along with really listening to what I have going on with my medical history and health. Great environment, the heated massage seats were AWESOME as well!!! Very relaxing!!! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place of business.

I went in with my wife who’s working on pain management and found out this may help with my diabetes. I have been going now for a couple of weeks and it’s the most relaxing time of my week. My sugar seems more under control. The staff is amazing, friendly and very personable.
