Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Dana Becker, MSTCM, L.Ac., #AC17527Dana Becker, MSTCM, L.Ac., #AC17527

Dana is a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA. Her path to becoming an acupuncturist began when she had the worst hip pain and nothing was helping.  After two cortisone shots and little relief, she found acupuncture. After only four treatments she felt so much better.  She also noticed that her menstrual pain was completely gone. She was amazed and hooked and wanted to learn as much as she could about the medicine and also how to help more women have pain-free cycles.

The thing Dana loves most about being an acupuncturist is watching people who have been in so much pain get back to enjoying their lives.  She loves that she gets to help people feel relaxed and supported in this crazy world.

Dana joined the Modern Acupuncture team because she likes that the methods used in the clinics are science-based and that there is a team of people working together.  She feels connected to the mission to get as many people as possible to experience acupuncture.

When she isn’t treating patients, Dana enjoys hiking and riding her bike, and anything else that gets her outside.  She regularly harvests wild plants and makes medicines from them. She likes knowing what is in season and in her neighborhood.  She also loves writing and playing music on the ukulele and guitar.

Anh Tran, L.Ac. #AC18467Anh Tran, L.Ac. #AC18467

She loves being an acupuncturist because it is extremely gratifying to use a holistic system of medicine that can be finely tailored to each individual’s needs and views humans in the context of the natural world. Renee’s favorite part about being an acupuncturist is helping people feel better at the moment of their treatment and supporting them in achieving their health goals.

Renee joined the Modern Acupuncture team because she likes the healing environment and that it has made acupuncture more convenient and accessible.

When she isn’t treating patients, you can find Renee listening to audiobooks, spending time by the ocean, and constructing model buildings.

Myra is a graduate of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, Ca. As a mother of three young children, she found acupuncture to be a great way to treat various childhood ailments. Acupuncture turned out to be a safe and effective tool to treat recurring eczema, digestive issues, and upper respiratory infections for her kids. She loves that acupuncture provides a gentle and noninvasive way to bring the body back into balance to be able to grow and thrive

Qi (Rachel) Yang, L.Ac. #18387Qi (Rachel) Yang, L.Ac. #18387

Rachel is a graduate of the University of East and West in Sunnyvale, CA. She immigrated to the United States in 2015 with her family. A relative back home who was an acupuncturist suggested she go to Chinese Medical school. Shortly after beginning her studies, she fell in love with the medicine. At the same time, her mother was experiencing chronic shoulder pain and menopausal symptoms. After several acupuncture treatments, her pain and symptoms improved. Her mother’s experience strengthened her determination to earn her acupuncture license.

Rachel’s favorite part of being an acupuncturist is having the ability to help others. She sees how often people suffer from chronic pain and appreciates that she can help them, so they don’t have to resort to medication.

Rachel joined Modern Acupuncture to be part of a team of people that are dedicated to helping others through acupuncture.

When she isn’t treating patients, Rachel loves to cook. She could spend all day in the kitchen because she finds the process of cooking very relaxing. She also enjoys playing sports like badminton.

Andrew Eng, L.Ac. #18685Andrew Eng, L.Ac. #18685

Andrew is a graduate of Yo San University in Los Angeles, California. He decided to become an acupuncturist because it was the natural progression after a career as a Massage Therapist and Energy Healer. He had accumulated many injuries as a professional dancer and Martial Arts acrobat and had developed techniques to heal each of those injuries. Andrew became an acupuncturist to better help his patients and to gain a deeper understanding of self-healing and energy.

What Andrew loves most about being an acupuncturist is that he has a modality of healing to help other people, which is highly effective, and has a deep breadth of information and history. He also appreciates that it is easy on his body.  TCM makes a lot of sense to Andrew, and he wants to be a proponent of this wonderful medicine.

Andrew chose to be a part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he believes in the model of the company. He loves the beautiful environment, and that it makes acupuncture easily accessible to the general population.

Outside of work, Andrew loves training in Martial Arts like Kung Fu, Eskrima, and Tai Chi. He also enjoys training in street styles of dance like Popping, Breaking, and House. He is an avid practitioner of self-care methods like meditation, Qi Gong, massage ball therapy, and stretching.
