Meet Our Acupuncturists, L.Ac.

Dewaynia Wilson, L.Ac, DAc #308285 Dewaynia Wilson, L.Ac, DAc #308285

Dewaynia is a graduate of Maryland University of Integrative Health where she earned both her Masters  degree and doctorate in Acupuncture.  She decided to become an acupuncturist because she saw results that people were getting with treatments and wanted to learn more.  Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is showing people that there is a better, healthier way to live.  She wanted to be part of the Modern Acupuncture team because she likes that it makes acupuncture accessible and gives the medicine greater visibility.  In her free time, Dewaynia enjoys going to Concerts, and traveling to learn about other cultures.

Donna Green, MAOM, L.Ac. #308462Donna Green, MAOM, L.Ac. #308462

Donna was born and raised in Lafayette, LA. She attended graduate school in Houston where she earned her Master’s in Acupuncture Oriental Medicine.  After years of being a body work professional, specializing in Eastern theory, she decided to further her studies by attending acupuncture school.  Her favorite part of being an acupuncturist is helping people to live life well.  Donna wanted to be part of the Modern Acupuncture team because she liked that we are making acupuncture more accessible and affordable.  When she’s not helping others live life well she enjoys reading, gardening and rescuing animals.

Michael Cooper L.Ac., ACA, MAcOM #200048Michael Cooper L.Ac., ACA, MAcOM #200048

Michael is a graduate of Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland Oregon. He has been fascinated by the traditional martial arts of China and Japan since childhood. He had teachers who held that a fighter should be able to heal as well as harm, and who were knowledgeable about the acupoints and techniques like Shiatsu. He believed in this philosophy and tried to emulate Cheng Man Ch'ing – a Chinese medicine and Martial Arts Master.

His favorite part of being an acupuncturist is being a part of people’s lives, even if it is in a small way. He encourages them to encounter their physical self without fear or pain, but instead with acceptance and joy.

He became a part of the Modern Acupuncture team because he believes that acupuncture can serve our country and alleviate our people's suffering both from pain but also from dependence on drugs and surgery. However, to do so it needs to reach people where they are and deliver the necessary “dose” of treatments. He believes that Modern Acupuncture is making this possible.

When he isn’t working, Michael says that he is a homebody who spends all his time with his wife and family.  He also manages to read a tremendous number of books and has sacrificed most ordinary activities to this passion. He also practices Tai Chi religiously and enjoys the music of Louisiana. His goals are to become a decent Zydeco dancer and to take up canoe paddling
