Rachel has since retired from stage performance but regularly entertains her children and grandchildren ...and still sneaks in a bit of salsa dancing.

Sepideh attended South Baylo University in Ahaheim, California. Always fascinated with eastern medicine, when she became a medical doctor she wanted to pursue another aspect of Medicine. When she moved to the US, it gave her the opportunity to study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Being able to help patients without having them take different types of medicines or going through invasive and unnecessary procedures is what Sepideh loves the most about being an acupuncturist. She believes acupuncture is a great way to get treated while avoiding side effects of medicine. In addition, seeing patients making progress in a short period of time is exhilarating for her. Sepideh decided to become part of the Modern Acupuncture team because of the effective methods used and relaxing atmosphere. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, dancing, reading, cooking, and listening to music and watching movies.
Monica attended the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. She decided to become an acupuncturist after taking her sister’s cat to a holistic veterinarian and had the opportunity to witness what the wonders acupuncture can do for pain management. Modern Acupuncture’s mission to make acupuncture mainstream through the delivery of consistent and affordable care is why Monica choose to become part of the team. Being able to help others find balance in their health and wellness is what she loves most about her job. Marie Graduated from The American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, TX. She studied abroad in both the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM, Hangzhou, P.R. China and the Luzhou Medical College, Sichuan, P.R. China. Her interest in acupuncture started when an acupuncturist helped her turn a corner in her recovery from an injury that required a spinal fusion. Marie found hope again as she regained her strength and ability to live pain free. As a practitioner, she has seen acupuncture treat the whole family unit from a young child to end of life care. Emily's interest in acupuncture began when she wanted to keep her parents healthy without using drugs. She graduated from Five Branches University, in California. Emily believes the 3 biggest areas that acupuncture make people's lives better is pain management, stimulating the body's ability to heal, and the improvement in many areas including sleep, mood, wellbeing, stress and so much more. She believes acupuncture should be available to as many people as possible and Modern Acupuncture cares about its patients and their health. After years of being in private practice in CA, Emily enjoys being part of a team and Modern Acupuncture River Oaks has a great team. Emily loves Houston in many ways, from its variety of food, diverse communities, and the many activities for her young daughter. She enjoys music and Ballet shows, having art class with her daughter, running in the morning, and reading at night.

I LOVE Modern Acupuncture! I needed help with hormonal balance/hot flashes that I wanted to treat naturally if possible. At the time Modern Acupuncture just opened so I gave it a shot and boy am I glad I did! Not only did acupuncture help relieve my hot flashes, I was suddenly able to sleep well on the days I had my treatments (I was never a good sleeper). I couldn’t believe how acupuncture helped my stress, it was an added benefit that I didn’t know would happen. Most recently, the team has helped me with shoulder/neck pain that I spent a year and a half working with a chiropractor with minimal relief, when I brought up the problem to MA, I am seeing a huge difference in my range of motion and I actually have days where I have no pain (that hasn’t happened in years!). I can’t express how grateful I am for finding Modern Acupuncture, Rachel, Marie and Monica! They and the whole team at Modern Acupuncture are absolutely amazing!!
I love my acupuncturist, Rachel Eckroth. I have been with her for years and she is the best. Modern Acupuncture has made this treatment easy and affordable. I am so grateful to the owners for investing in this franchise and bringing it to Houston!
Modern Acupuncture brings an ancient Chinese wellness tool into a more understandable, affordable and convenient framework. I sleep better every night after acupuncture.
I've bee treated for anxiety and inflammation. Rachel is great, Katy and Chelsea are so helpful. Improved youth in face!
After my first visit my hip pain decreased by almost 60%! I was pleasantly surprised! I have told all my friends. The staff is great too.
